How to Pair Microsoft Band 2 with Windows, Android or iOS Mobile Device

 

So Microsoft has released all new Band 2 which is now available on Microsoft Store and other retailers including Amazon, Dell, Best Buy, Taylormade.com and Target.com. Microsoft has put some great efforts to make Band 2 look, feel and perform better. Microsoft band 2 is compatible with practically all mobile devices available in market today including Windows Mobile, Android and iOS devices. If you are one of those who have purchased Microsoft Band 2 or are going to purchase one, then this tutorial is for you. In this simple tutorial, I am going to show you how to pair your Microsoft Band 2 with a mobile device running Windows, Android or iOS operating system.

Band 2 is compatible with the following mobile operating systems

> Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 mobile
> Android 4.4 and later
> iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, iOS 8.1.2

Band 2 connects with a device using Bluetooth. I don’t think any of the above mentioned device lacks Bluetooth connectivity but yeah, a device with Bluetooth connectivity is required.

How to Pair Microsoft Band 2 with Windows, Android or iOS Mobile Device.

Other requirements
You will need a Microsoft account. If you already have one, then all good. If you don’t have it, you will need to create one. Remember, any type of Microsoft account will work including an account you use on your Xbox, Outlook.com, Hotmail etc.

Install Microsoft Health app on your device from the following links.

One you have installed Microsoft Health app on your device, follow the steps given below to start pairing your Band 2 with your mobile device.

Step 1:
On your Band, press the power button and choose your language.

Step 2:
Swipe left and select your phone’s operating system.

Step 3:
Swipe left and tap Pair now.

Step 4:
Open Microsoft Health app on your phone, tap Sign in, enter your Microsoft account credentials and tap Next. If this is the first time you are signing in to the Microsoft Health app, validate that you accept the Health app Terms & Conditions and tap I agree.

Step 5:
Enter your Profile info and tap Next. Enter accurate information to make sure your health and fitness data are calculated correctly.

Step 7:
Choose your Band model (Microsoft Band or Microsoft Band 2).

Step 8:
Tap scan now and tap the name of your Band.

Step 9:
On your phone, enter or select the pre-filled PIN code that appears on your Band and tap Pair > Next > Allow.

Step 10:
If updates for your Band are available, tap Start update, and after updates have installed, tap Finish.

Step 11:
On your Band, press the action button to start. A flashing arrow will point to the action button.

That’s it. You have successfully paired your Microsoft Bans 2 with your mobile device.
