Short version: Frunction does not collect personally identifiable information including IP address, location, and financial information. When do we collect your information and why

Information that may personally identify you is collected in the following cases.

Comments: In order to post a comment, visitors must fill out their name and email address, and we collect your IP address. This information is used to prevent spam and abuse. If you choose to be notified when a comment is posted on an article or a reply is posted to your comment, you provide us with an email address.

Contacting us: When you contact us by using a contact form or directly via email, we collect your name, email, and IP address. Our spam filters use this information to prevent spam.

Membership registration: If you sign up to be a member, you provide us with your name – which can be real or otherwise and your email – which has to be verified.

How long we store your information

None of the functionalities mentioned below are required to visit If you choose to use them, your data will be stored as described below.

Comments: Information regarding comments is retained indefinitely in order to display comments and prevent spam.

Contacting us: If you contact us through contact form or email, we retain the email communication and information associated with it (name, email address, and any other information included in the communication) indefinitely.

Membership registration: If a visitor registers on Frunction, we retain the data as long as the membership is active.

Location of data storage

We currently use Hostinger International Ltd. as our hosting providers. Your information – if any – is stored at their data center(s) in the Netherlands in accordance to their privacy policy. Data residency may change in case of switching to other hosting providers.

Whom do we share the data with

None of the data collected on is shared with a third-party. We do not use analytics solutions like Google Analytics or third-party trackers, email providers etc.

Regarding the use of cookies

Frunction makes the use of cookies for some functions to work.

When you visit, a cookie is set to count your visit. Other non-essential use of cookies include contact form, comment form, newsletter form, cookie notice, and reading mode/dark mode button – in these cases, a cookie is set to remember your preferences. For instance, to remember if you switched on dark mode. does not have third-party tracking/advertising cookies or cookies that follow you across the web.

Embedded content from/links to third-party websites

Pages on may include links to third-party websites. Pages may also include embedded content like videos, images, tweets etc. from third-party website. Embedded content behaves as if the visitor has visited the third-party website and is governed by their privacy policy. They may track your visit, collect data about you, and use cookies.

Frunction does not have control over the third-party content and the privacy policy that governs the collection of information. Frunction does not take responsibility of third-party content.
