Cell phones are considered to be personal device. Unlike a personal computer, cell phones are not shared by people and mostly everyone has their own phones. This might stand correct most the times but sometimes we need to lend someone our phone or leave it unattended to a friend.
While we mostly keep our phones locked, there are still chances of misuse of our phone. One such misuse can be replying to a message from Lock screen of an iPhone or iPad. Some crazy friend or cousin could reply to a message directly from Lock screen -without unlocking it first. In short, the quick reply function of iOS might be convenient but it can breach your privacy easily. In this tutorial, let us learn how to turn off quick reply from Lock screen on iPhone or iPad.
How to Turn Off Quick Reply from Lock Screen on iPhone
- Unlock your iPhone or iPad and navigate to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode (only “Passcode” on devices without Touch ID).
- Enter your Passcode or provide your thumb impression as required.
- Scroll down to find Reply with Message under “Allow access when locked” and turn it off.
After you turn of Quick Reply option, you will no longer be able to reply to any text or iMessage notification from Lock screen. You will have to open the app in order to send you reply.
One thing that should be noted here is that other people can still “see” your messages. This can pose privacy breach and security risk too in some cases. If you don’t want message previews to be displayed, you can turn it off too.
